Gordon School Scholarship

The Evan Spirito ’02 Scholarship at the Gordon School was established by the Spirito family and supplemented by a generous donation from Bernie and Heidi Buonanno.  The foundation has since met our pledge to fund a partial scholarship in perpetuity.  The scholarship reads as follows:  “This fund was established to celebrate and honor Evan’s life.  Evan Entered Gordon in Middle School and quickly became an essential member of the Gordon community.  Evan’s friends and teachers admired his quick wit, kindness and athletic talents. He possessed the natural ability to draw out the best qualities in those around him, this made him a sought-after friend and teammate.  This fund will support a student with financial need, with preference given to a boy coming from Henry Barnard School who demonstrates the wonderful qualities that Evan brought to Gordon”.  The first scholarship was awarded in the Fall of 2013.

You can still donate directly to The Gordon School to support Evan’s scholarship endowment.  The larger the fund the more students who will be able to benefit from it!  Please contact Gordon’s Director of  Developement, Kerrie Donahue.

Moses Brown School Scholarship

The Evan Spirito ’06 Scholarship at Moses Brown was established by Terry and Pat Moran with an extremely generous pledge.  The Spirito family matched the Moran pledge and the first scholarship recipient started 9th grade at Moses Brown in the Fall of 2012.  The foundation has since met our pledge to fund the scholarship in perpetuity.  The scholarship is designed for a student in need, interested in playing team sports, who demonstrates some of Evan’s best qualities such as being kind, considerate, encouraging, positive, soft-spoken, and a good teammate who leads by example.

You can still donate directly to Moses Brown School to support Evan’s scholarship endowment.  The larger the fund the more students who will be able to benefit from it!  Please contact Karin Morse or Ron Dalgliesh in the Moses Brown Development Office.
